This week’s KJHL action began on Tuesday night with a South division matchup.
North Winnipeg 4 – Selkirk 3
The Satelites drew their offence from Braden Zamrykut, who recorded 3 assists. Sam Batt scored once and added an assist and Colin Yarchuk dished out 2 helpers. Kyle Pache, Nico Lisi & Howard Grieves all scored single markers. Wyatt Emes made 34 saves in the Satelites net to earn the victory.
Selkirk got singles from Harley Hoydalo, Milan Horanski & Drayton Mendrun. Travis Schalk stopped 19 shots in the Fishermen net.
A rare Wednesday matchup saw the Lundar Falcons play host to the St. Malo Warriors.
St. Malo 6 – Lundar 1
Elmar Tabler, Jared Magne & Jared Hunter all scored a goal and added 2 assists. Kyle Fortin recorded a goal and an assist. Noah Fournier was solid in goal, stopping 30 of 31 shots for the win.
Lundar’s lone goal was scored by Craig Wiess. Braydon Weatherburn faced 50 shots in the game, stopping 44 of them.
Thursday evening pitted Cross Lake against Norway House.
Cross Lake 9 – Norway House 1
The Islanders were led by Keith Monias who scored a hat trick. Cody Spence recorded a goal and 2 assist, while Tyler Monias ended with 3 assists. Rosaire McKay, Damian Ross & Tyrell Armstrong all finished with 2 points. Kris Wood-Ross stopped 36 of the 37 shots thrown at him to earn the win.
Norway House goal was scored by Harley Muminawatum. Brendan McLeod faced 47 shots in the game, stopping 38 of them.
There were only two games on a light Friday schedule.
Lundar 4 – Selkirk 3
Taylor Radley led the Falcons with 3 assists, while Landen Gray scored twice. Shayne Desjarlais & Bailey Proctor each scored once. Travis Rigden made 19 saves on 22 shots to earn the win.
Selkirk got 2 goals from Milan Horanski. Kale Ilchena chipped in with a single goal. Travis Schalk stopped 26 of the 30 shots he faced.
St. Malo 11 – North Winnipeg 2
St. Malo’s Jared Magne scored twice and added 2 assists, while Dustin Wiebe scored a single goal and ended with 3 assists. Riley Hunter scored a goal and dished out 2 assists. Jordy Hill, Kyle Fortin & Elmar Tabler all scored once and added 2 assists. Tyrel Bueckert found the net twice. Jared Hunter recorded 2 assists. David Allaire faced 33 shots in the game, stopping 31 on his way to the win.
North Winnipeg got single goals from Nathan Jones & Nico Lisi. Wyatt Emes played just 12:08 of the game, stopping 11 of the 14 shots he faced. Derick Vinsky relieved him, and finished with 43 saves.

Fisher River 10 – Norway House 3
The Hawks exploded with offence in this game. Sam Spence led the team with 3 goals and an assist. Darryl Thaddeus scored twice and added an assist, while both Johnny Beaulieu & Josh Beaulieu scored a goal and added 2 assists. Joel Wilson & Tyler McKay each finished with 2 point. Nolan Favel was solid in goal, stopping 43 of 46 shots for the win.
Harley Muminawatum continued his strong play, scoring two times. Fergus Chartier scored the other Norway House goal. Joel Monias faced 33 shots in the game, stopping 27. Brendan McLeod came on in relief, and faced 21 more shots, making 17 saves.
Arborg 9 – OCN 7
The Ice Dawgs were led by Corbin Pasternak, who scored once and added 4 assists. Spencer Kilbrei, Nico Morrow-Litke, Brett Goertzen & Cal Finnson all finished with a goal and an assist. Braydon Chwartacki found the net twice in the game. Nathan Friesen turned aside 37 of the 44 shots he faced in Arborg’s net to earn the win.
OCN’s Austin Caza finished with 2 goals and 2 assists. Tony Apetagon continued to lead the league in the scoring, dishing out 4 helpers in the game. Harold Linklater scored twice, while Broady Personius added a goal and an assist. Anthony Fontaine stopped 18 of the 26 shots he faced over 48:52 of play. Ron Fiddler made 7 saves on 8 shots in his time in goal.
The week of KJHL play closed out on Sunday with 3 games.
Fisher River 14 – Norway House 3
Josh Beaulieu led the Hawks with 4 goals and an assist. Sam Spence recorded 2 goals & 3 assists, while Evan Thickfoot scored once and added 4 helpers. Darryl Thaddeus scored 4 times in the game. Nicolas Murdock scored once and dished out 2 helpers. Jared Thickfoot & Johnny Beaulieu each finished with 2 points. Nolan Favel stopped 47 of the 50 shots he faced in the game to earn his second straight win.
Norway House got goals from Henry Muminawatum, Jeremy Folster & Chance Queskekapow. Joel Monias faced 20 shots, stopping 16 of them. He was replaced by Brendan McLeod, who made 46 saves on 56 shots.
Selkirk 5 – St. Malo 0
The Fishermen offence was provided by Dylan Painchaud-Niemi with 2 goals. Kale Ilchena dished out 2 helpers along the way. Coel Forsyth, Mike Smiley & Milan Horanski all scored once. Riley Bannerman stopped all 21 shots thrown his way to earn the shutout win.
No Warrior found the back of the net. Noah Fournier played 40 minutes in the game, stopping 16 of the 21 shots he faced. David Allaire played 20 minutes, stopping all 6 shots.
Peguis 8 – Arborg 2
Tyler Woodhouse led the Juniors with 3 goals and an assist. Theoren Spence, Romano Paul, Quinton Flett, Keifer Tacan, Tyrome Spence-Bair & Coulson Nepinak all finished with 2 points. Luke Penner stopped 37 of the 39 shots thrown his way, earning the win.
Arborg got goals from Nico Morrow-Litke & Colton Davies. Dylan Ossachuk stopped 32 of the 40 shots he faced in his action. He was replaced by Nathan Friesen who stopped all 14 shots.
Upcoming action in the league begins Wednesday night, as the Cross Lake Islanders play host to the Norway House North Stars. Friday evening sees eight of 10 teams in action: Selkirk hosts Cross Lake, Norway House travels to OCN, Lundar heads to St. Malo & Fisher River pays a visit to Arborg. Saturday closes out the week with just two games. Selkirk heads to Arborg to play the Ice Dawgs, while Cross Lake closes out their road trip with a stop in Peguis.
