Uncharacteristically, KJHL action began on Monday this week with a rescheduled game from earlier in the year between Fisher River and OCN.

OCN 14 - Fisher River 5

The Storm were led by Harold Linklater & Tony Apetagon with 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points each.  Mitchell Tilley & Aavory Wilkie both added 2 goals and 3 assists.  Devon Tobacco chipped in with a goal and 3 assists, while Micheal Markus delivered 3 points.  Bryson Werbicki-Mallet & Brandon Sinclair-Martin both finished with 2 points.  Keian Weseen, making his first start, turned aside 21 of the 26 shots he faced for the win.

Brennan Cochrane finished with 4 of the Hawks 5 goals, and added an assist.  Darryl Thaddeus added 3 assists himself.  Elliot Wilson faced 82 shots in the game, stopping 68 of them.

The next action was Wednesday night, as OCN headed to Cross Lake and Lundar played host to Selkirk.

Cross Lake 6 - OCN 5 (OT)

Keith Monias led the Islanders with 1 goal & 2 assists.  Tanner Poker scored twice, including the OT winner.  Tyrell Armstrong added a goal and an assist.  Tory Monias stopped 58 of the 63 shots he faced throughout the game to earn the win.

Tony Apetagon continued to lead the Storm, adding a goal and 2 assists to his season total.  Camacho Lathlin, Austin Caza and Harold Linklater all finished with a goal and an assist, while Devon Tobacco dished out 2 helpers.  Anthony Fontaine saw 64 shots, making 58 saves to earn a point.

Selkirk 5 - Lundar 2

The Fishermen got a hat trick and an assist from Milan Horanski.  Drayton Mendrun potted two goals and an assist.  Griffin Steeves dished out 2 helpers.  Travis Schalk faced 21 shots, and made 19 saves to earn the win.

Jason Nikkel responded with 2 goals for the Falcons.  Braydon Weatherburn faced 52 shots in the Lundar goal, making 47 saves.

Thursday evening had a game between Cross Lake & Norway House, that had originally been scheduled for Saturday.

Cross Lake 5 - Norway House 3

Cross Lake got a goal and an assist from each of Donovan Tanner & Tie Braun.  Keith Monias added 2 assists.  Kris Wood-Ross turned aside 50 of the 53 shots he saw to earn the win.

Ronald Robertson finished the game with a goal and an assist for the North Stars.  Brendan McLeod stopped 46 shots in the game for Norway House.

Friday night had 3 games on the schedule.

Peguis 12 - OCN 5

The Juniors saw their offence supplied by Quinton Flett with a goal and 4 assists.  Christian Cochrane and Romano Paul both scored once and chipped in with 3 assists, while Tyrome Spence-Bair added 2 goals & 2 assists.  Theoren Spence scored a hat trick, and Keifer Tacan scored twice and recorded an assist.  Devon Garson, Devun Groot & Tyler Woodhouse all finished with 2 points.  Luke Penner faced 53 shots in the game, stopping 48 for the win.

The Storm's Harold Linklater scored twice and recorded 2 assists.  Tony Apetagon, Camacho Lathlin & Mitchell Tilley all finished with 2 points.  Anthony Fontaine faced 55 shots, making 43 saves.

St. Malo 16 - Fisher River 8

St. Malo's Riley Hunter had a big game, scoring two goals & adding 5 assists.  Dustin Wiebe also scored two goals, and added 4 assists.  Jared Hunter chipped in with a pair of goals & 3 assists and Elmar Tabler added a goal & 4 assists.  Jared Magne scored a hat trick & added an assist, while Jessi Freund finished with 4 assists.  Jordy Hill & Ben Olson each had 3 points, and Brett Jocelyn, and Tyrel Bueckert both finished with 2 points.  Noah Fournier faced 33 shots, turning aside 25 of them in the win.

Brennan Cochrane again led the Hawks, scoring 3 times and chipping in with 4 helpers.  Johnny Beaulieu finished the game with 2 goals and 3 assists.  Darryl Thaddeus had a goal and 3 assists.  Both Josh Beaulieu and Evan Thickfoot finished with 2 points.  Austin Spence saw 63 shots sent his way, stopping 47 of them.

North Winnipeg 7 - Arborg 6

The Satelites' got 2 goals and 3 assists from Nico Lisi.  Glen Paupanekis added 2 goals and an assist, while Nathan Jones recorded 2 assists.  Wyatt Emes faced 45 shots, stopping 39 of them to earn the win for North Winnipeg.

The Ice Dawgs' Clint Torfason scored twice and added an assist.  Clayton Nichols, Jordan Kristjanson & Colton Davies all finished the game with 2 points.  Nathan Friesen stopped 38 of the 45 shots he faced in the game.

Saturday night had just two games on the schedule.

OCN Storm 17 - Fisher River 7

OCN's Tony Apetagon had yet another strong game, scoring 6 times and adding an assist.  Mitchell Tilley recorded two goals of his own, to go with 4 assists.  Austin Caza scored twice and dished out 3 helpers while Broady Personius added a goal and 4 assists.  Brandon Sinclair-Martin, Edward Lachose and Aavory Wilkie each finished with 3 points.  Bryson Werbicki-Mallet, Camacho Lathlin, Devon Tobacco & Jayden Young-Head all ended with 2 points.  Anthony Fontaine made 22 saves on 29 shots for the win.

Evan Thickfoot, with 1 goal & 5 assists and Darryl Thaddeus with 4 goals and an assist led the Hawks.  Arnold Mason dished out 3 helpers.  Nicolas Murdock scored twice.  Nolan Favel faced 61 shots over 50 minutes of play, stopping 47 of them.  Austin Spence played 10 minutes, facing 24 shots and making 21 saves.

Peguis 11 - Lundar 3

Peguis was led offensively in this game by Romano Paul, who scored 4 times and dished out 3 assists.  Theoren Spence recorded 3 goals and 2 assists in the game.  Tyler Woodhouse added 3 assists.  Quinton Flett & Tristan Slater each ended with 2 points.  Luke Penner saw 28 shots thrown his way, making 25 saves in a winning effort.

Lundar got 1 goal and 1 assist from each of Dennon Sichewski, Taylor Radley & Jack Clinton.  Braydon Weatherburn played 40 minutes in the game, making 16 saves on 23 shots.  Travis Rigden came on for 20 minutes, and made 16 saves on 20 shots.

Sunday had just one game on the schedule, an afternoon matinee that saw Arborg play host to the league leading St. Malo Warriors.

Arborg 8 - St. Malo 2

Dylan Furgala & Colton Davies both scored twice and added an assist, while Spencer Kilbrei recorded a goal and 2 assists for all three players to finish with 3 points.  Clint Torfason added a goal and an assist.  Dylan Ossachuk turned aside 42 of the 44 shots sent his way to earn the Ice Dawgs win.

St. Malo's Jared Magne led his team with a goal and an assist.  Alec St. Georges faced 33 shots, making 27 saves.  He was replaced by David Allaire, who made 20 saves on 22 shots.

The last full week of play in January begins Tuesday night as Lundar heads to Mosienko to play the Satelites.  Wednesday night sees Norway House in Cross Lake & Fisher River playing host to Arborg.  Thursday night pits the Cross Lake Islanders in OCN to play the Storm.  Friday evening sees three games on the docket: Norway House hosts OCN, Arborg heads to Peguis & Selkirk plays St. Malo.  Saturdaynight has a solo game, with only Lundar in Norway House.  Sunday has six teams in action, with Lundar heading to Cross Lake, North Winnipeg in St. Malo and Selkirk playing host to Peguis.
