The Keystone Junior Hockey League is proud to announce the nominees for the annual Top Defenseman Award. This award is presented to the best defenseman in the league. Voting is done by all of the leagues teams. The nominees are as follows:
Chavez Constant, #19 OCN Storm - leading the league in defenseman scoring this season, Constant scored 29 goals and 28 assists to lead the way from the back end for the Storm. A proud defender who enjoys scoring just as much as keeping the puck out of his own net, he quarterbacked the powerplay most nights in leading the Storm to a third place finish.
Christian Ross, #27 Cross Lake Islanders - one of the Islanders top defenders, Ross played in 18 games and was always an impact. Registering 8 goals and 11 assists he consistently made a responsible first pass out of his own zone. Christian worked hard in being defensively responsible while chipping in offense when he could.
Kyle Cochrane, #13 Peguis Juniors - finishing second in defenseman scoring this season, Cochrane put up 10 goals and 22 assists for 32 points. Responsible in his own end, he joined the rush on a consistent basis helping the Juniors secure a first place season, with aspirations of another league title on the horizon.
Congratulations to the nominees and best of luck!
