KJHL Announces Partnership with Bright Sky Consulting

KJHL Announces Partnership with Bright Sky Consulting

Webmaster

The Keystone Junior Hockey League is excited to announce its partnership with Wade Houle of Bright Sky Consulting for the upcoming season. Bright Sky Consulting will deliver Anti-Racism and Cultural Sensitivity training to each team over the course of the upcoming season.

Bright Sky Consulting is a company started by Wade Houle of Dauphin, Manitoba. Over the course of the upcoming season, each team will have in-person seminars that will be led by KJHL alumni Wade Houle. Wade graduated from the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba in 2006 and grew up in the Metis community of Vogar, MB.  His mother is from the Lake Manitoba First Nation and his father is from the Ebb & Flow First Nation, from which Wade is a band member. Presently, Wade is an Indigenous Education Coach for the Mountain View School Division and has been an educator for the past 16 years.  In May of 2022 Wade completed his Master's Degree in the Faculty of Graduate Studies from Brandon University. In February of 2020, Wade started a small business called Bright Sky Consulting where he works with a variety of businesses and organizations with the implementation of their in-house discrimination and racial sensitivity training.

"We saw the work that Wade did last season with the MJHL, and we felt that now is the right time to partner with him to provide our athletes a great educational component" said KJHL President Andrew Arksey. "I have known Wade since my teenage years in Dauphin, and have seen the work he has put in, especially in the recent years, and we recognized this to be a value-added component that we could provide to our athletes that will contribute to their future successes not only in hockey but in life. We are looking forward to working with him this season, and for seasons beyond."
