For the sixth consecutive season, the Peguis Juniors have won the KJHL Championship!.Winning the title this season also quantifies them as the Provincial Junior B Champions!
Keanu Woodhouse led the way for the Juniors in the decisive game five scoring two goals and adding one assist. Captain Lyle Murdock accepted the trophy from league executive Matt Granger and added 3 assists. Jeremiah Jacques added a goal and an assist in the back-and-forth contest, while goaltender Aiden Marchand backstopped his team throughout the post season and made 27 saves in the victory.
Drew Peters of the OCN Storm scored once and added three assists, while Blaine Dorion scored twice late in the third period to make a game of it. Ezekiel Kirkness also added a goal and an assist in the losing effort.
Congratulations to both teams on a successful season. Both teams will now prepare for the Central Canada Cup in Thunder Bay taking place April 20-23, 2023. More details will follow next week.
